Can I keep my Kean email address after I graduate?

Alumni email accounts remain active as long as there is activity on the account. If there is no activity for a period of time, the account will be closed. You can continue to access your account from the Kean website by clicking on the Kean mail icon.

How do I get my alumni card?

All Kean graduates receive their free alumni card after graduation, which will give you access to certain benefits and services.

Instructions for printing the membership card can be found on the Membership Card page.

You may also obtain your card by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations at (908) 316-8930 or by emailing Please be ready to provide your full name, name at graduation if different, class year, date of birth, and address for identification purposes. Your alumni verification letter will be emailed to you.

Alumni who wish to utilize the Nancy Thompson Library will need to obtain an Alumni Photo ID Card, which is available at no cost at the ID Card Office, currently located at the Office of Student Accounting, 3rd floor of the Administration Building. You must bring your current alumni card along with one other form of photo identification (driver's license, Kean student ID) to receive your Alumni Photo ID Card.

If I visit Kean, where can I park?

Free parking on campus is very limited. Alumni who visit the campus may park in the Visitors' Parking Circle outside of the Administration Building and Townsend Hall after checking in with the guard at the entrance to the parking lot.

Where is the Ruth Horowitz Alumni House?

The house is located on the East Campus on North Avenue and Riverside Drive and is open only for Alumni Association Executive Board meetings and events sponsored by the University or Alumni Association. The physical address is 215 North Avenue Hillside, NJ 07205.

You can contact the Alumni Office at 908-737-2586 to check whether we have any extra copies of your yearbook. The Nancy Thompson Library has also made Kean yearbooks available for online viewing.

How do I submit news to Kean Magazine?

Let your friends, classmates, and professors know what your latest life accomplishments are by submitting a milestone (class note) to the Kean University Foundation. Share your academic and professional achievements, your wedding or anniversary news, or family births. Email a milestone to and it will be included in the next available issue of Kean Magazine.

How do I order a copy of my transcript?

Transcript requests for both undergraduate and graduate degrees are handled by the Registrar's Office in the Administration Building (Building A). The most current information on transcript requests can be found at

The Office of the Registrar is now directing all alumni who graduated in 1980 or later to a third party collegiate transcript request service: On the transcript website, select Kean University from the drop-down box, then enter your information. Specify which transcript is being requested, and process the order with your credit card.

Alumni who graduated prior to 1980 should complete the transcript request form. The Office of the Registrar does not accept email, fax, or phone requests for transcripts, as a signature is required on any hard copy transcript request. Transcripts (attendance at Kean prior to Fall 1982) will be mailed within seven working days. During peak periods, especially at the end or beginning of a term, mailing may be delayed beyond the above working days.

How do I nominate an alumnus or alumna for a Distinguished Alumni Award?

Distinguished Alumni Awards are given out annually by the Kean University Alumni Association.
