Since its establishment in 1984, the Kean University Foundation has raised and managed private dollars for the benefit of the University and its students.
Below are common questions and answers about gifts.
Who handles my gift?
A gift made to the University is processed by the Foundation staff for immediate deposit. After your donation is recorded, you will receive a receipt/gift acknowledgment in the mail for your tax records.
What if goods or services are received in connection with my gift?
We inform you on your gift receipt and acknowledgment of the value of any goods or services received and the resulting value of your tax-deductible donation, per IRS regulations.
What do you do with my gift?
All gifts received will be applied to the area of greatest need, unless otherwise specified by the donor. The Foundation has more than 150 separate funds and programs where you may designate your donation. A Foundation staff member would be happy to assist you in selecting a designation for your gift.
Can I give a gift other than cash?
The Foundation can handle many types of non-cash gifts. Click here for information.
What are my rights as a donor?
The Foundation adheres to the Association of Fundraising Professionals "Donor Bill of Rights" for the protection of the donor. Click here for information.
