Success, Happiness and Our Search for Meaning

October 2023

The College of Business and Public Management was proud to present alumnus, Mark LoSacco, Esq. ’88, at the first Dean’s Forum lecture for this academic year.

Mr. Lo Sacco, former Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement at HSBC North America, spoke on “Success, Happiness and Our Search for Meaning,” drawing on his educational and career journey to highlight times when success and happiness were by-products of persistence and dedication to a greater goal. Often, it was a personal connection with a faculty member, colleague, mentor or mentee that enhanced the sense of fulfillment experienced in accomplishing a goal.

His experience resonated with the large student audience, who then participated in a wide-ranging question and answer session, which included career, business, personal development and wellness topics.

College of Business and Public Management (CBPM) Dean, Dr. Jin Wang, closed the lecture and thanked Mr. LoSacco for sharing his experience. As this Dean’s Forum presentation was the first since the College achieved the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation, Dean Wang noted the new accreditation logo on the event signage. The accreditation recognizes CBPM’s ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching, research, curriculum development and student success – the very areas that bring meaning to his and his faculty’s efforts.
