A Winding Road to Success

Cheryl Quinio-Blodgett is Featured at the College of Business and Public Management Dean’s Forum

“Be true to yourself.” “Know your worth.” “Keep a ‘bank’ of trusted advisors and mentors.” These were some of the words of wisdom shared by speaker Cheryl Quinio-Blodgett ’04 ’05 with College of Business and Public Management (CBPM) students at the Dean’s Forum presentation on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Hynes Hall.

Quinio-Blodgett is the Business Manager for the Chief Investment Office, Wealth Management, UBS. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Kean University Foundation. In her presentation, Not all Career Paths are Straight, she shared insights on her professional journey, from beginning as a college nursing major, to working full time at Wachovia Bank while pursuing her Kean business degrees, to impactful positions in New Jersey state government, to her return to the financial industry, where she has served in executive roles at JP Morgan Chase and UBS. She also described some interesting stops and starts along the way. The audience of over 100 students asked insightful questions and especially appreciated Quino-Blodgett’s examples of how she utilized her professional network to advance her career development.

William Miller, Kean Foundation Chief Executive Officer, introduced the session. Miller shared gratitude for Quinio-Blodgett’s service as a member of the Foundation Board. He noted that her support of and involvement with a number of nonprofit organizations has made a positive impact in our state and local communities. David Farrokh, CBPM Assistant Dean, echoed these sentiments in his closing remarks and awarded Quinio-Blodgett with a certificate of appreciation.
