John A. Turner ’92 ‘97

John A. Turner ’92 ‘97, CEO and president of Corporate Synergies Group since 2010, exemplifies the determination, perseverance and giving spirit that has become synonymous with many Kean graduates. He successfully leads his Mount Laurel, NJ-based insurance and risk mitigation company by tapping into more than 20 years of experience in the health insurance and broker channels and focusing on high-impact, service-driven strategies. He and his company have been recognized for their efforts with two SmartCEO Circle of Excellence Awards and two SmartCEO 100 Best Run Companies Awards.

Turner earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education adult fitness in 1992 and a master’s degree in public administration in 1997, both from Kean. The leadership skills he implements now perhaps became evident much earlier, having been captain of the football team while at Kean. In 2005, Turner went on to attain an MBA from Regis University and a leadership certificate from the University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School. He is also now pursing an MS in risk management and insurance from Florida State University.

In tandem with his commitment to fostering growth in business, Turner is also an ardent supporter of education and his community. He was appointed a Kean University Foundation board member in June 2016. He also serves on the boards of Kean’s College of Business and Public Management and Habitat for Humanity of Burlington County.
